TranzAlpine Rail Journey

The TranzAlpine rail journey is an iconic New Zealand adventure – voted one of the most scenic train journeys in the world. The highlight section of this journey is travelling the edges of the ice-fed Waimakariri River (spectacular ice-blue in colour), including the impressive Staircase Viaduct, 75 metres above the river waters. TranzAlpine’s world-class carriages are designed to show off the stunning scenery - centrally heated/air-conditioned with wide side and roof windows, and open-air viewing decks.

Akaroa Harbour Cruise

Akaroa Harbour is a prime location for the rare Hector’s dolphins. Easily spotted by their distinguishable rounded dorsal fins, the Hector’s dolphins are only found in New Zealand waters. Watch while they ride the bow putting on a spectacular show for you.

Abel Tasman NP Cruise

Sit back and relax on this cruise that takes you from lovely Kaiteriteri Beach on full, scenic journey through Abel Tasman National Park. Explore the coastline and discover secluded beaches and bays from the comfort of the boat. Learn about the history of the park and what makes it such a special place to visit. Hear commentary about the region and its inhabitants. The cruise is the best way to experience Abel Tasman National Park, while encountering some of the local wildlife.

Queen Charlotte Sound Cruise

Enjoy some free time in Picton before boarding a luxury vessel. Spend your afternoon cruising past isolated bays, with a unique route on offer each day. Enjoy the informative commentary on this stunning region, and benefit from the skipper’s help spotting the wildlife that frequent these waterways. Reach the Furneaux Lodge for a specialty lunch. Explore the grounds, do a short walk or simply drink in the views unti it’s time to cruise back to Picton.
