Embrace the spirit of adventure on a journey to the end of the earth
North Pole, Spitsbergen, Iceland, Greenland, Canada
The High Arctic is one of the last untamed places on earth and, as such, commands a level of preparation, flexibility and respect not encountered elsewhere. The Peregrine program is designed to make the most of your time and experience, with a flexible approach that takes the 'group' out of group travel, enabling you to enjoy the High Arctic in your own way.
No two voyages are the same. Wildlife, weather and ice conditions often affect the day-to-day itinerary and this adds immense interest to your expedition. In addition, Peregrine likes to explore new destinations whenever possible.
Each day you wake to the promise of new experiences: polar bears, isolated communities, Viking ruins, or spectacular panoramas of land, ice and water. Peregrine plans itineraries that are busy but also allow you to take time to relax and appreciate the spectacular surroundings.
Peregrine's vessels have a solid reputation for being the ideal ships (in terms of size, speed, safety and stability) for exploring the unpredictable extremes of the region. Although you'll spend a lot of time exploring off the ship, they are the perfect 'home base' for exploring the wilderness areas of the High Arctic, moving quickly from bay to island to fjord, and providing a warm and comfortable homecoming at the end of a day's exploration. Embrace the Spirit of Adventure on a journey to the end of the earth.
Adventures aboard Pergrine's ice-strengthened ship
The Sea Adventurer is the perfect 'home base' for exploring the wilderness areas of the High Arctic. She moves quickly from bay to island to wildlife colony, and provides a warm and comfortable homecoming at the end of a day's exploration to allow you to rest-up and get the most out of each day. The Sea Adventurer combines exploration with relaxation, comfort and adventure. The meals are excellent, the in-depth education programs are presented by world renowned experts and the accommodation is extremely comfortable.
Icebreaker Expedition
The ultimate adventure to the High Arctic is visiting the North Pole. This voyage requires ice-breaking capabilities and the power and strength of the purpose built icebreaker, the 50 Years of Victory. This is the largest and most sophisticated of its kind in the world; with its specially designed hull and use of helicopters, it allows you access to extremely remote places.
FREQUENT SHORE EXCURSIONS
Peregrine aims to spend as much time off the ship with you as possible. With their fleet of sturdy, inflatable Zodiac boats, all passengers are able to disembark at once, swiftly, easily and safely. Normally, passengers can break into small groups of people who share similar interests – you choose which group you'd like to go with at each outing. Carrying up to 107 passengers, Peregrine normally breaks you all up into small groups who share similar interests – you choose which group you'd like to go with at each outing. This means we can comfortably stay within the industry guidelines of 100 or fewer people ashore at a time, never requiring the inconvenience of shuttles.
SPECIALISED GROUPS & CONFERENCES
Peregrine caters for a variety of specialised interests, including sea kayaking and photography. The ships are ideally suited to conferences and other groups, ranging from 10 to 100 participants.
EXPERTS IN THE FIELD
Peregrine and its sister company, Quark Expeditions, have been working together for the last five polar seasons, and between them have the experience of many thousands of voyages.
Consultants, expedition staff and the ship's crew combine to offer unbeatable knowledge and experience.
